About This Spot

Stepping into La Famiglia 羅馬餐館, you’re embraced by a genuine warmth that feels more like visiting a Roman home than a restaurant tucked into one of Taipei’s bustling neighborhoods. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle into a space where every detail speaks to deep respect for tradition without pretense. It’s a comforting setting where laughter and quiet conversation mingle, making it an ideal spot to gather with close friends or those you wish to treat with a touch of heartfelt connection.

The atmosphere carries the subtle echoes of Roman streets, brought to life not through decor alone but through the tender care that the couple behind the restaurant infuse into each moment. The husband, a chef from Rome, nurtures authenticity rather than adaptation, crafting dishes that preserve the essence of his hometown’s flavors. Meanwhile, his wife attends to guests with a genuine kindness that makes you feel truly welcomed — as though you’ve walked in as part of their extended family.

Here, the food becomes an intimate conversation rather than a menu to simply work through. Pastas and risottos are delivered with an unmistakable sense of place, stirring memories that transcend borders. Ingredients are given the spotlight they deserve, each bite revealing a dedication to quality and subtlety that resonates softly like a familiar melody. The pizza, vibrant and popular, carries this same careful artistry, making every shared plate a small celebration.

Dining at La Famiglia is more than a meal; it’s a gentle voyage to Rome’s heart, lovingly made accessible in Taipei’s Da’an District. It’s a place where the flavors and spirit of an Italian family’s kitchen are lovingly preserved, inviting you to slow down, savor, and connect — with the food, with the hosts, and with the moments that quietly become memories.

It’s one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Taipei. The chief is from Rome. A very local Rome cuisine. The pasta is not saggy at all. I love it the most because the chief doesn’t change the taste of Rome in Taiwan. Instead, he brought the original flavor to here. I love the wife of the chief. She was super nice, thoughtful and sweet. A must try italian restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan.

cibo delizioso. I have to say La Famigila ranks in the top Italian restaurants in town. Every dish is delicately prepared by the chef. Also the materials are top of the lines. Marinated olives are so good. Buffalo mozzarella is so good. The dining experience could be better if the couple can use some waitresses to serve around.

I don’t know how it feels to be an Italian, but I would like to born Italian after eating here. Hearty and warm, sophisticated yet fundamentalist. Their risotto and pasta make my heart sing recondita armonia like Luciano. Not sure if this is the best Italian restaurant in Taipei, but I take my dearest friends and most distinguished clients here only, proudly. Bravissimo.

Spectacular!! This was the best meal I had in Taipei this trip (and I had some good meals). Every dish we had was delicious, authentic Italian. The clams and mussels, fabulous! And the…soup the mussels and clams were in was so good we got extra bread. The broccoli and sausage spaghetti was unbelievable. The lasagna was super good. The focaccia bread with parm ham and arugula was perfect. The service from the owners, a husband and wife team, was wonderful. Finally the tiramisu was obviously homemade and delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m going back!
